Assessments
Our clinicians provide a range of NDIS-aligned assessments designed to support accurate understanding, enhance access to appropriate funding, and guide evidence-based intervention and planning. Each assessment is completed using validated tools, best-practice frameworks and a person-centred approach to ensure recommendations are meaningful, practical and tailored to individual needs.
Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
Functional Behaviour Assessments are completed to identify the purpose or function of behaviours of concern, including behaviours that may present risk. Using direct observation, interviews, assessments and evidence-based behaviour analysis, we develop a clear understanding of the environmental, social and sensory factors influencing behaviour. Findings are used to inform Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) planning, aligned with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, with a focus on improving quality of life, reducing restrictive practices and building adaptive skills.
Cognitive Assessments
Cognitive Assessments evaluate thinking skills such as memory, attention, problem-solving and processing, along with the impact these abilities have on everyday functioning. Psychologists use validated, standardised tools to identify cognitive strengths and challenges and how they affect learning, independence and daily activities. Assessment results can provide evidence for NDIS access and planning and also guide targeted interventions and skill-building strategies that support greater confidence, participation and functional capacity.
Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) completed by a psychologist provide a clear picture of how cognitive, emotional and behavioural factors impact a person’s ability to manage daily activities, participate in the community and work towards their goals. Using interviews, standardised tools and functional observations, the assessment identifies strengths, challenges and support needs. Findings help guide NDIS planning and ensure supports are aligned with the person’s independence, wellbeing and long-term goals.
